Things people have yelled at my friends and I from their cars
at me: "ukuleles suck!"
at leslie: "douchebags!"
at alex: "poser!"
to kids outside kiva: "die, hipster scum!"
One time I yelled at a girl from a car, but she totally deserved it (ha ha, get it?). No, but really, she deserved it.
Today I woke up and organized MANY thoughts. Then I drank some wine and hung out with Rox on the porch because it was so beautiful outside.
Visited Leslie at the bakery, and made plans to meet her and Alex to go see Ted Leo and the Pharmacists and The New Pornographers for free at CMU. It was really great, but I was surprised that NP played The Bleeding Heart Show and Slow Descent into Alcoholism. Those songs must be so tired to them. But they played Challengers and My rights versus Yours, which was greeeaaat. New stuff pretty bomb, too.
Ted Leo: "If you could see what I could see, you would be a lot happier than if all you were seeing was me, seeing what I'm seeing, which is you."
Someone yells: "Druuugs!"
Ted Leo:"Let's bring the mood down and maybe lift it up a little."
Yesterday I woke up at Justin and Paul's house around 9 a.m. after a pretty ridiculous night with Justin and Rox. I drank like three bowls of ice water in a row, hung out with Roland, and then played an electric guitar for a long time while Justin played bass. It refuse to call it "jamming." The view was beautiful the whole time, bright sunshine and blossoming trees outside every window.
So many trees are blossoming in squirrel hill! I pick a few flowers every time I am on my way to meet Alex, and give them to him. He always looks pleased and smooches me. He says he's been pressing them in whatever book he's reading at the time. I wonder how long I can keep it up, how many different flowers I can find to give him?
I made a listography account. it is pretty bomb.

meals:
Alex took me on a date to the library (the restaurant, not the actual library) and then for coffee.
Before that we went to Lulu's and then to the magic shop in Oakland.
Before that we made turkey burgers with homemade macaroni and cheese.
Today got him to tell me when he started to like me. It was not as soon as I had hoped. ha! he is fucking lovely.
Not even close to all, but all for now. Sleep!

Thursday
no work and family dinner today! (photo unrelated)
I woke up to alex(+) commenting that he had to be at work in six minutes(-). I would smooch him all day.
Later, I woke up again to Leslie ordering me to wake up. I replied that I was awake; just deep in thought. I think she said something like, "deep in thought, ha ha bullshit! put some clothes on!"
practiced uke-guitar for a while. awesome.
I asked dutch and emmy over for veggie burgers tonight, and then realized that all I needed to buy was a can of black beans! for like 95 cents! everything else was already here. maybe ben didn't come because I made him drink too much wine last time I had a family dinner. ha.
anyway, emmy helped me cut up vegetables. here's the recipe I/we made up, for future reference:
1 can black beans
grated sweet potato
garlic, cumin, cilantro
red onion
green jalepeno hot sauce
chopped red pepper
chopped mushrooms
about 1 tbsp crunchy peanut butter
flour
next time I will add TVP, definitely, because they tasted phenomenal but weren't textured like a burger at all (of course). also, I made baked sweet potato fries by tossing julienned sweet potatoes in olive oil and a garlic-herb spice mix. everyone's plates were clean in like five seconds.

elaborate homemade dinner around the dining room table =
beautiful
last time I made quesadillas (with roxanne and justin's help).
I think next time I'll make grilled pizzas. that'll be absurdly cheap, so I can invite a lot of people. make it a party to celebrate the beginning of summer :)
I'll make homemade thin pizza crusts, and have a lot of toppings on hand: pineapple, red onion, mushrooms, green pepper, sun-dried tomatoes.
anyway, emmy is the best. really glad she came over.
alex said I love you today before he left for work. it was awesome. he gave me a stuffed rabbit that was given to him when he was born - in russia. it has neon rainbow feet pads and ears.
it's the best when he talks to me in russian.
oh, and alex and I made a cake yesterday to congratulate roxanne on getting the assistantship she wanted in france. she'll be going to nantes in august! man! that was kind of a wake-up call for me. if rox can do that, so can I, right? I'll just have to earn a lot more money first. so, yeah, that's on the agenda.
I asked steph if I could start working six days a week for that same reason. I guess I finally figured out that I can't just sit around moping about how nothing is as easy for me as it is for some other people. I just have to do what I have to do to get where I want to go, period, I guess.
